Riders Information

Dear Rumblers,

Please read the following Important Information carefully regarding The Surrey Rumble Cyclosportive to be held on Sunday 7th March 2010. 

Registration

Registration opens at 08:30 at the Event HQ, Downside Village Hall, Downside Common Road, Cobham, KT11 3NP and closes at 09:55 SHARP.

Electronic Timing System

TBA

Start

Riders will be sent off in groups of up to 20, at 2 minute intervals. Riders will be split into groups after they have signed on. First group off at 09:00 - Last group off at 10:15.

Cut Off Times

Fishers Farm Checkpoint - 13:00 (Long course only).
Manor Farm Checkpoint - 15:00 (Both Courses).
All riders are expected to have returned to the Event HQ by 16:00.

Parking

Please do not obstruct the area around the Event HQ!
Limited Free Parking is available around Downside Common,, however, should this become congested, there is also ample Free parking adjacent to the Royal British Legion Club, Downside Bridge Road, Cobham, Surrey, KT11 3DG. (Approx. 1.5 miles away), or there is another small Car Park at the bend in the road where Downside Bridge Road becomes Bridge Road (approx. 1.2 miles away). There is also Parking available at Effingham Junction Rail Station (approx. 1.6 miles away).

These will be provided in a Plastic Cover at Sign-On, but please take the time to familiarise yourself with the directions & SAFETY NOTES, which can be found on the Route Maps page.

Road Conditions

I'm sure that it most of you will already be aware of the fact that the severe weather conditions experienced this winter across the whole of the UK has taken it's toll on the Road Surfaces. Please be extra careful where the road surfaces have suffered, and remember to let your fellow riders know of any impending hazards. Particular Care should be taken after approx. 6-7 miles in Raikes Lane (just after crossing the A25), where there is a LARGE POTHOLE.

Checkpoints

There is ONE checkpoint on the Short Course, & TWO checkpoints on the Long Course where refreshments will also be available.

You must present your registration card to be stamped at each applicable checkpoint.

Long Course - Checkpoint 1
Fishers Farm Park, Newpound Lane, Wisborough Green, West Sussex, RH14 0EG.
This checkpoint will be manned by the Staff at Fishers Farm where they will place a sticker on your Rider Registration Card.

Long Course - Checkpoint 2
Manor Farm Craft Centre, Seale, Farnham, GU10 1HR.
This checkpoint will be staffed by Twickenham CC members who will be preparing Hot Drinks as well.

Short Course
Manor Farm Craft Centre, Seale, Farnham, GU10 1HR.
This checkpoint will be staffed by Twickenham CC members who will be preparing Hot Drinks as well.

After The Ride

A wide selection of Cakes, Sandwiches, & Hot Beverages will be available for your enjoyment.

The Bike Whisperer will also be in attendance to answer any performance or mechanical questions you may have, and will also have a range of essential spares available.

This event is insured through British Cycling, please read the Terms and Conditions of Entry as published by them.
